ROBOREELS
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about ROBOREELS from 3G Electric.
What Fanuc controller models are ROBOREELS pendant cable reels compatible with?
ROBOREELS pendant cable reels are designed for specific Fanuc controller generations. Models with part numbers ending in -SN00 (open-style) are compatible with the R30iB and R30iB+ controllers. Models with part numbers ending in -CCN (closed-style) are available for both the R30iB/R30iB+ series and the older R30iA/RJ3i series. Always verify the controller model against the reel's compatible manufacturer model number listed in the specifications before ordering.
Do ROBOREELS reels include a cable, or do I need to supply my own?
ROBOREELS offers both configurations. Some models, such as the F-20-0310-CCN and F-30-0310-CCN, include a 10-meter cable pre-terminated for the pendant. Other models, like the MG-30-0325-SN00, do not include a cable and accept user-supplied cables up to 25 meters in length. The 'cable not included' variants allow you to use existing cable assemblies or select cables with specific connector types suited to your pendant.
What is the difference between open-style and closed-style ROBOREELS reels?
Open-style ROBOREELS reels have a steel housing that exposes the cable spool, allowing visual inspection of the cable condition and easier access for maintenance. Closed-style reels use a polypropylene housing that fully encloses the cable, providing protection against dust, debris, and minor impacts. The choice depends on your environment: open-style for cleaner areas where cable monitoring is important, closed-style for shop floors with airborne particulates or where cable protection is a priority.
Can ROBOREELS reels be used with robot brands other than Fanuc?
ROBOREELS reels are specifically engineered for Fanuc teaching pendants, with mounting interfaces and connector geometries matched to Fanuc controller models (R30iA, RJ3i, R30iB, R30iB+). While the reel mechanism itself could theoretically be adapted, the brand does not publish compatibility data for other robot brands. For non-Fanuc applications, consult the reel dimensions and mounting pattern to determine if field adaptation is feasible, but no guarantees are provided by the manufacturer.
What is the maximum cable length that a ROBOREELS reel can accommodate?
For ROBOREELS reels that accept user-supplied cables, the maximum cable length is 25 meters. This applies to models like the MG-30-0325-SN00. For models that include a pre-terminated cable, the cable length is fixed at 10 meters. The reel's spring tension mechanism is calibrated for these lengths to ensure consistent retraction force and prevent cable damage during operation.
Are ROBOREELS reels rated for outdoor or washdown environments?
ROBOREELS does not publish IP ratings or environmental certifications for its reels. The closed-style polypropylene housing provides basic protection against dust and light splashes, but the reels are intended for indoor industrial environments. The open-style steel housing offers no ingress protection. For outdoor or washdown applications, additional enclosure or protective measures would be required, and the manufacturer does not specify suitability for such conditions.
