Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CBM thermocouple safety device used for?

A CBM thermocouple safety device is used in gas control systems to prove the presence of a pilot flame before main gas is admitted into the appliance. It is suitable for high-temperature burner and flame-monitoring systems using manufactured, natural, or LP gas.

What are the specifications of the CBM thermocouple safety device?

The CBM thermocouple safety device includes two models: Q334A with maximum operating temperature of 815 °C and dimensions 16.5 × 19 mm, and Q385A with maximum operating temperature of 730 °C and dimensions 8 × 19 × 16.5 × 11.5 mm. Both have a maximum orifice assembly temperature of 340 °C.

How to install a CBM thermocouple safety device?

Installation must be performed by a trained, experienced service person. Turn off gas supply before starting. Position the pilot burner for easy access and observation, ensuring the flame does not touch adjacent parts and has an ample supply of dust-free air. Mount the pilot burner in a preferably upright position.

Used in

Common applications for CBM
Industrial boilers — CBM circulation pumps (mod. CM 30W) and solenoid valves (ELV series) for heating-loop control and pump staging.
Burner systems — CBM oil nozzles (FLU atomizer types), electrodes (ELC 200 mm), and solenoid coils (ELV 230V AC) for combustion ignition and flame supervision.
Plant maintenance and retrofit — CBM cable glands (CLI M25), motor couplings (ACC type D), and small-radius fittings (RAC 90°) for equipment reconfiguration and sensor integration.
Boiler water treatment — CBM chlorine test kits (DET free+combined) for feedwater and circulating-water quality monitoring in closed-loop systems.
Pump and motor assembly — CBM couplings, fittings, and cable glands for assembly and rewinding of industrial motors, circulation pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
