Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Safety Switches from 3G Electric.
How do I choose between a safety switch with guard locking and one without?
Guard locking holds the door closed until the machine has stopped, so it suits applications with run-down time or stored energy — conveyors, mixers, rotating shafts. Without guard locking, the switch only signals door position, which is adequate where hazards stop immediately. Match the choice to your risk assessment and required performance level.
Are transponder read heads and actuators sold as matched pairs?
They are matched components and must be ordered together with the correct coding. We stock actuators for transponder safety switches alongside the read-head units, so confirm the switch series and coding type before ordering. Send us your existing part numbers and we will verify compatibility.
Do you ship safety switches worldwide, and what are lead times?
Yes — 3G Electric supplies worldwide from stock and through our supplier network. Common fusible and non-fusible disconnect switches and popular EUCHNER, Schneider, Siemens and Eaton interlock units typically ship quickly; less common configurations are quoted with a confirmed lead time.
