Confirm the duty is continuous or intermittent, check available motor voltage and frequency, and match the relief valve and inlet filter to the same airflow so the blower is never starved or over-pressured.

A 1-stage unit uses a single impeller and suits moderate pressure or vacuum duties with higher flow for a given frame size. A 2-stage unit passes air through two impeller stages in series, producing roughly double the pressure or vacuum at lower flow. Choose 2-stage when your system resistance is high; choose 1-stage when flow matters more.
