Frequently asked questions
Common questions about OMEGA Thermocouple from 3G Electric.
How do I choose the right OMEGA thermocouple type for my process?
Match the thermocouple calibration to your temperature range and atmosphere: type K for general purpose up to around 1,260°C, type J for reducing environments, type T for low-temperature and cryogenic work, and type E for higher sensitivity. Sheath material and junction style (grounded, ungrounded, exposed) also affect response time and isolation.
Can 3G Electric supply OMEGA thermocouple connectors and extension leads to match my existing probes?
Yes. We stock OMEGA thermocouple plugs, multipin connectors, terminal blocks, adapters for thermocouples and RTDs, and general-purpose extension leads. Specify the calibration letter, pin configuration, and insulation type so the connector and lead alloy match the probe and avoid introducing measurement error at the junction.
What lead times apply to OMEGA thermocouples shipped worldwide?
Lead time depends on whether the item is a catalog standard or a configured assembly. In-stock plugs, terminal blocks, and common probes typically ship quickly; special probe lengths, surface sensors, and pipe-connection thermocouples may need additional lead time. Share your specification and destination and we will confirm availability and routing.
